Crafting one-of-a-kind handmade cutting boards that are as durable as they are beautiful is our passion. We use only the highest quality sustainable growth hardwoods to make all our boards, from simple serving boards to our most functional and beautiful product -- the multi-hardwood endgrain cutting board. We never use artificial stains and always use natural food-safe glues (Titebond III) and finishes (beeswax and USP grade mineral oil).
Our own love of cooking has made customer satisfaction & service our main focus. We know our hand-made Maine products are so popular because they consistently deliver such great value and we work hard, inspired by our love of crafting, to bring them to you. Just about the first question people always ask us is something like, “What’s up with that pig logo?” The short answer is that Terry, my wife of 35+ years, has only one obsession. She collects all kinds of pigs – mostly figurines but occasionally pictures and other items with pigs on them. So when it came time to think of a name and a logo for this business, the name Perfect Impression Gifts (which is what I hope will be the response people get) of course spells “P-I-G-S”, so we are both happy. Strange, but the pig logo kinda grows on you!
The next thing many folks want to know is how big we are – you know, the factory size, number of employees, etc. Well, we have lived here in the small town of Orrington, Maine (near Bangor) for over 22 years, raised three great boys and we love it here. We just have a small workshop / office in our home’s basement and I make everything down there. I store wood in my garage and other raw materials around the house. It does get a bit crowded round here sometimes but as we like to say here in Maine, it's wicked good fun. So, we keep pretty busy, building you 100% hardwood high quality handcrafted and affordable gifts that you just don’t see much of in these days of "fake wood" mass produced items.
So, occasionally we sell a few choice items right here on our website, but we mostly sell the stuff that we haul around to shows all around Maine.
